the dutch Mathieu Van der Poel (Alpecin Deceuninck), winner of Paris Roubaix and Milan San Remo, will participate in long-distance road and mountain bike races at the World Championships to be held in Glasgow from August 3 to 13.
Van der Poel, also a 5-time cyclo-cross world champion, is preparing for the Tour de France in La Plagne, where announced his decision to “double up” both tests in Scotland.
The road test will take place on Sunday, August 6, while the ‘mountain bike’ event will take place on the 12th.so Van der Poel will have 6 days to recover from a preliminary race consisting of 271 km.
Van der Poel will appear in the Tour de France which launches in Bilbao on July 1 and next Saturday he will compete in Duracell Through Hageland, in Norway.
