Víctor Orta, Sevilla’s new sporting director, made a mistake in his presentation when he ignored the signing of Spanish player Adriá Pedrosa for the Nervión team, before that deal became official.
In his official media presentation, when a journalist mentioned Sevilla’s signings of the Argentine Federico Gattoni and the signing by paying the purchase option of the French Loïc Badé, Victor Orta corrected him: “Well, and Pedrosa , ” he said.
The media was surprised, because they knew the winger was a player with an agreement, but Sevilla had not yet made it official, because he still had a contract. Orta quickly realized that he was upset and his reaction was a smile.
The president, José Castro, needs to clarify this as soon as possible. “About Pedrosa, I have to say it. He’s a player that we like, we have talks with him that could come to fruition, but he’s not a Sevilla player yet. Forgive him,” he said, referring to Orta, “but he’s just arrived and he doesn’t have all the data,” he said with a laugh.
The sports director, who arrived in Seville at four in the afternoon and was introduced at half past six, justified himself: “I’ve only been here for two hours and I don’t have all the details. I didn’t give much time, just to eat and talk with the CEOs”.
