Wissam Ben Yedder, Monaco’s French striker and former Sevilla player, has denied rape accusations filed by a young woman in July and for which he was charged.

In statements published this Wednesday in the Nice Matin newspaper, Ben Yedder’s lawyer, Hasna Louzé, reported that his client “vehemently denies the offenses alleged” after being accused of “rape, attempted rape and sexual assault.”

The 33-year-old French international was charged on August 10 by an investigating judge of the Judicial Court of Nice and an investigation was opened in an event in which the younger brother of the soccer player, 25, who was denounced by another young woman, was also accused of the same charges.

Three goals in two games

Ben Yedder is currently free, although under judicial control, after paying a bail of almost one million euros. Monaco kept him disciplined and started the first two games in Ligue 1, scoring three goals in each win.

The two complainants, aged 19 and 20, They assured the police that they were sexually forced on July 10 by Ben Yedder and his younger brother in the town of Beausoleil, a few kilometers from the Principality of Monaco.
