How did you get to the Catalunya Grand Prix after coming 2nd in the Austrian Grand Prix?
I’m fine, I’m fine and very happy. We had a great weekend last Grand Prix, and everything is working well. The bike works well, and I feel good. It’s a track I’ve always enjoyed. It is quite close to Andorra. I’m looking forward to seeing how we can do it this weekend, but I’m confident and feeling good.
Is your riding style and KTM’s attitude adapted to the Montmeló layout?
The track is very special, in the sense that there is no grip. The grip level is very low. So it’s very important not to do too many laps because it’s too hard on the rear tire. It’s a very special track because you need a push in qualifying, but in the races you have to try to keep your tire and make sure you go all the way.
A year dominated by Ducati.
Well of course the plan is to finish in front of them. It’s been a little tough lately, but my team has done an amazing job. We improved every weekend and we’ll see how it goes this weekend.
Here we are at this amazing Alinghi Red Bull America’s Cup event. Do you like to sail? What do you think of these types of boats?
Yes, I have been on speedboats many times, but I have to say that today the water in the sea is very rough. In the support boat it’s very slow, but it’s great to see how they train and how they handle themselves. It’s super, super cool and really cool to be a part of it now.
As you say, Barcelona is not far from Andorra, do you know the city?
Well, to be honest, I haven’t been to the city much. I’ve been out a few times at night after the race, but I haven’t spent too much time there, but I have to tell you that Barcelona is a very fun city.
