The town of Berga (Barcelona) will host in 2024 a Volta Ciclista exit to Catalunya 65 years after his last presence in the race (1959), in a stage that will end in the Queralt Sanctuary.
As announced this Friday by the organizers of the Volta, the end of the stage in the said sanctuary will allow the cyclists to establish “important differences” after a day in the mountains.
The Volta peloton will return to Berga after six decades, marking the eleventh time this town has celebrated a stage start or finish. The last time was in 1959 and the first in 1947.
The Sanctuary of Queralt, located at an altitude of 1,200 meters, has had a prominent role in the past of other historical events such as the Catalan Week, but it debuted as the end of the stage in the Volta, which is the 103 edition will take place. from 18th to 24th March 2024.
