VAR referees failed to award the goal to the Liverpool striker, after the referee disallowed it Simon Hooper who was in charge of directing the match, due to the non-existent offside.
The College of Premier League Referees (PGMOL) acknowledged that this was a “human error” after the referee in charge of VAR, Darren England, said “full check” without realizing that the goal was not allowed on the field.
