The undefeated Japanese southpaw and interim straw champion of the World Boxing Council, the Japanese Yudai Shigeoka, scored an important victory against the regular champion, the Thai Panya Pradabsri, to remain the sole WBC 105-pound champion. The match took place on a big card presented by Wardrobe Promotions within Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan, reports the World Boxing Council.
Yudai dominated Pradabsri from the beginning of the match, with his aggressiveness, even when Pradabri tried to counterpunch, he did so without much effect.
Shigeoka pressures the brave champion, who in all his fights has shown great heart. Panya, 32, failed to make his fifth defense of the WBC belt.
At the end of the fight the judges’ cards scored 119-109, 119-109 and 117-111, in a great victory for Shigeoka.
With this victory, Yudai improved his record to 8-0, with 5 knockouts, while Pradabri fell to 40-2, with 24 knockouts.
