Aldeguer won his third straight win

Date:

While his MotoGP future in the VR46 continues to be discussed behind the scenes of the Murcian paddock Fermin Aldeguer apply the roller to the track since the Indonesian GP whether in free practice, qualifying or on race day. A third consecutive victory fell into his bag this Sunday with a decisive victory coming from the halfway point of the Lusail race, his fifth consecutive podium and that moves him closer to the runner-up in the world championship.

From pole position, Joe Roberts kept the initiative ahead of Vietti and Aldeguer and the champion lost six positions Pedro Acosta in the early stages suffering from qualifying problems even behind the first two lines.

A very nervous start for Aldeguer, the driver who has chained victories in the last two races, which caused him to lose positions in his first fight with Arón Canet who by the second lap had already led the race with the great interior of Hollywood and he quickly put two and a half tenths between them. But he was unable to release any ballast and Roberts, Dixon and Manu González followed him.

A group of 11 drivers formed in the lead, closed by champion Acosta, and it was on the ninth lap that Aldeguer came to the front determined to break the race. What he achieved in a few laps by already placing second and a half to the Canet-González duo who fought until the last lap for the second place recorded by ‘Manugas’ of nine thousand, the first for the young man from Madrid. It was the fourth Spanish Moto2 triple of the year and the second in a row. Eighth, champion Acosta came in, 6.598 behind his compatriot and came furiously to the box. Even though he was competitive, that eighth didn’t sit well with him.
