Dutch Van Dijk sets a new time record: 49.254 km

the dutch Ellen Van Dijk35, was founded at Grenchen Velodrome (Switzerland) a new time record with 49.254 kmwhich exceeded the previous British-owned mark Joscelin Lowden with 48,405 km achieved on September 30, 2021.

Van Dijk (Harmelen, 35 years old) broke the previous record with a demonstration of technique and strength on the Swiss track, riding with perfect regularity in an aerodynamic position from start to finish.

The Trek Segafredo runner, who is “so happy to break a very difficult record” and a goal after many years of a successful professional career, is twice the individual time trial world champion and four times the teams. On the track, he was world scratch champion in 2008.

Van Dijk won the rainbow time trial jersey in September in Bruges, Belgium, eight years after his first title, averaging 50.3km/h on the 30.3km flat course.

He also has some great classics on his record, such as the Tour of Flanders, which he won in 2014.
