F1 is putting pressure on Horner and Red Bull

Date:

A few days before the start of preseason tests scheduled in Bahrain, Formula 1 sent a letter to Christian Horner and the team Red Bull Racing for the team to “resolve the investigation with the team manager as soon as possible.”

The organization I don’t want the championship to start with these thorny issues that are still unresolved.

The case is well known: the day after the presentation of the new car, De Telegraaf published new revelations, according to which Horner regularly sent sexual messages to an employee over a long period of time..

On top of that, Horner himself will do everything to hide the case and it’s even commented Red Bull team director’s lawyers offer at least 760,000 euros to employee lawyers to prevent the news from getting out and avoid scandal.

For more details of this case, the parent company of the Austrian beverage giant Red Bull has appointed an external lawyer to oversee the investigation and last week Horner himself conducted an eight-hour interview with this lawyer at an undisclosed location in London, before appearing in public last Thursday at the presentation of the 2024 World Championship car.

This intervention by Formula 1 occurs a few days before the start of the preseason tests scheduled in Bahrain starting on Wednesday. “We observed that Red Bull has launched an independent investigation into internal allegations within Red Bull Racing. “We hope that the matter will be clarified as soon as possible, after a fair and thorough process,” the statement said. “F1 has no further comment.”

When news of the incident appeared in the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Red Bull confirmed it had launched an investigation and was taking the matter “extremely seriously”.. Horner, who has led the team to seven world drivers’ championships and six constructors’ titles since joining the team following his arrival in F1 in 2005, categorically denies any allegations of inappropriate behaviour.

At the car’s launch this week, Horner, 50, insisted that “everything is business as usual”, although he admitted that the investigation was “a distraction” for the team.
