Alpine will make “organizational changes” with the appointment of three new technical directorsafter the failure of its first Grand Prix in Bahrain and the 2023 season, as announced this Monday by the French team.
“We decided to make some organizational changes, because we could clearly see that we were not where we wanted to be. or where we need to be in terms of performance,” Alpine boss Bruno Famin said in a statement.
After a 2023 season in which it finished sixth in the constructors’ standings, the Renault group brand saw its two French drivers, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly, finish 17th and 18th at the Bahrain Grand Prix on Saturday.
“The team announced the appointments of Joe Burnell as Technical Director (Engineering)David Wheater as Technical Director (Aerodynamics) and Ciaron Pilbeam as Technical Director (Performance),” Alpine wrote.

“This new structure with three pillars with three technical directors, each specialized in different areas, will provide better work and collaboration in our technical areasto contribute to the performance of our factories on the track,” underlined Bruno Famin.
The next Grand Prix, in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), will take place this coming Saturday.
