Yesterday morning Carlos Alcaraz experienced one of his worst moments on the tennis court in recent months. The Murcian definitely fell (6-2, 6-4) in the quarterfinals of the Miami Open against Grigor Dimitrov in a match in which he was not comfortable, losing his courage on more than one occasion.
The frustration he felt throughout the match was evident in the third game of the second set when, After making a new unforced error, he explodes against himself.
“I can’t do that shit. not allowed. I need to focus once and for all…” he exclaimed with obvious annoyance.
That wasn’t the only time Alcaraz lost his temper. In the first set another outburst escaped him after throwing a forehand in doubles alley.
Already in the press room, Alcaraz didn’t bite his tongue explaining what happened on court, acknowledging the torture he suffered at the hands of Dimitrov. “I think he played almost perfectly, if not perfectly. I can’t find solutions, make him uncomfortable“, studied the champion of Wimbledon.
He even moved away from the sensations experienced. “I think I played good tennis. Not perfect but good. There are so many frustrations, I feel like I’m 13 years old. It’s crazy. I was talking to my team saying I don’t know what I have to do, what their weakness is. I do not know. That’s why I’m frustrated now.”
He lost to Dimitrov in Shanghai in October, “so I knew I had to change something about that match, even though I didn’t play well there, I made a lot of mistakes. The problem is that I haven’t found solutions against someone that I would give a 10 or 9.9 to.. Although, I’m sure that next time I’ll go out and try different things. Although at that level it’s difficult to play against him.”
