The Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Bora Hansgrohe), leader of Itzulia, will start the fourth stage that will take place this Thursday between Etxarrin Aranatz and Legutio, despite some injuries caused by the fall he suffered on Wednesday about 40 km from goal, as confirmed by the team.
Roglic, a two-time Itzulia winner, will defend his yellow jersey on what could be a key day. The winner of three Vueltas a España also had a bad fall on Wednesday in Altsasu that left him with multiple, but not serious, injuries.
“Roglic suffered superficial injuries on the right side and bruises,” but when the injuries were assessed, the team and the rider himself decided to start the fourth stage.
The stage between Etxarri Aranatz and Legutio consists of 159 kilometers and includes difficulties along the route, three of them marking, the last of them, the Leintz Gatzaga summit, with a summit 10 km from the finish line.
