Beckham’s heir: Ward-Prowse’s Olympic goal for West Ham’s victory

Date:

James Ward-Prowse just scored one of the best goals of the season in the Premier League to give West Ham victory in their visit to Wolverhampton. The English midfielder, dubbed David Beckham’s heir apparent for his ball-striking, scored an Olympic goal in the 83rd minute that sealed victory for the Hammers on their visit to Molineux Stadium.

With the score at 1-1, Ward-Prowse used his accurate right hand to launch a corner kick that stunned José Sá and the other players. The Wolves goalkeeper saw the ball pass him helplessly. Replays showed that the former Southampton player was looking for a goal directly from the corner.

West Ham achieved a major victory at the buzzer that allowed them to catch up with Manchester United, sixth in the Premier League, to continue competing for positions that provide access to Europe.
