The former president of Deportivo Alavés Dmitri Piterman was not presented to judgement which was opened against him since this Monday for the alleged misuse which he performed during his command, where the court had declared in rebellion and decided that the trial would proceed.
The trial, scheduled for the whole week, began in the Court of Alava and in this Monday’s view, the other defendant, the ‘right hand’ of Pitermanthe Cantabrian businessman José Nereo.
At the beginning of the hearing, the defense of Piterman He cited medical reasons for requesting the suspension and explained that this Tuesday he is scheduled to undergo knee surgery in California (United States), where he lives.
The defense assured that the former president of Alavés He intends to appear in the future, which is why he asked for the oral trial to be postponed, a request to which Nereo’s defense joined.
The prosecutor, however, asked to hold the trial because he understood that the medical information presented was insufficient, that the trial had been scheduled since October and that Piterman did not collaborate, but its location became complicated.
Finally, the court decided to continue the trial because it did not consider the absence of Piterman because it is not an emergency operation, but a scheduled one, and in a private clinic, so it is not on the waiting list. In addition to continuing the trial, the Court declared him in absentia.
The hearing will last the whole week with Nereo’s presence as the accused because Piterman is not in the trial.
