Olazabal: “The triple bogey on the 12th hole hurt”

“The triple bogey on 12 hurt… It’s a bad swing; I think I had the perfect club to hit a solid shot with the 8 iron and the truth is that as soon as I touched it I realized it. “I was hoping he would take the bunker, he didn’t make it a meter and cost me 6,” complained Olazábal.

Despite this, he tried to bring out the positive side. “Let’s see, at the beginning of the week I didn’t think I could hit the ball that well. Today was a beautiful day, even in these conditions… I did a lot of good things and the only blot was the 12th hole that I was leaving with regrets for not making the cut, for being so close, but at the same time holding my head high for how I hit the ball,” “Now we have to do it, but in the coming weeks,” he added.

Olazabal was happy with his feelings. “I enjoyed the field today; I haven’t hit the ball in a long time. I’ve hit a lot of punches to my liking, I’m generally a good kicker and, excluding the twenty minutes of the 12th hole, the rest was good,” he assured.

The Basque player analyzed the playing conditions. “Last year there was a time when, in addition to this wind, it was cold and raining. The conditions are harsher. “Today, since morning, I have not experienced this kind of wind all day in the 35 years I have been coming here,” he assured.

Finally, Olazábal explained what his next steps will be once his participation in the tournament is over. “I’ll be home for a week and then I’ll be back to play three Champions Tour tournaments. I had planned it before, but at this moment I am facing them with a little positivism,” he concluded.
