A local paraglider (40) found himself in a dangerous situation in Flirsch in the Landeck district of Tyrol on Friday! The pilot was hit by a gust of wind and pushed against a rock wall. The umbrella then got stuck and the man became stuck at dizzying heights.
The incident happened around 12:45 p.m. The pilot was in the “Obere Mutte” area in Flirsch. By so-called “gliding” he wanted to get to a rock wall against the wind and thus gain height. However, the flight maneuver went wrong.
“Dragonfly” rushed to help
“The 40-year-old was hit by a gust of wind and pushed against the rock wall,” police said. The glider then got stuck in pine trees in the mountains, trapping the pilot. It was a lucky accident and he was unhurt. But because he could no longer free himself, he had to call for help.
The police helicopter “Libelle” recovered the paraglider with rope and flew it into the valley.
