Barcelona Moto2 rider Gabri Rodrigo, who is riding with an Argentine license, has said goodbye for the rest of the season to undergo surgery and correct the injury he is dragging on his right shoulder, as the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Team officially.
“The Pertamina Mandalika SAG Team deeply regrets the loss of our current pilot, thanking him for his excellent work and performance within the team. After several months of great effort by the pilot and team in finding a effective adaptation, the decision was made to intervene to guarantee his perfect recovery on his return to the competition. We send all our support to Rodrigo and we want him to return to the team quickly “, they explained.
Gabri herself recounted that “I made the difficult decision to have surgery on my shoulder. We had the idea to try to stick around to maximize more by the end of the year to take advantage of more learning careers. The big problem to my injury was that every time my shoulder came out, a swelling formed that weakened me after a few consecutive laps. After all, we tried to lengthen it because we took a few steps forward which gave to us the hope of progressing, although in the race it reached significance. We tried to keep going until we crashed into Mugello which caused me to lose everything I had won, which added to the biceps injury due to being too tired ” .
“Together with the team, we made the decision to operate. I visited the best shoulder specialists and they agreed that this was the best solution. It was a difficult moment but I was calm, because I knew it the right decision and to get back to 100 %”, Gabri explained.
Edu Perales, the leader of the SAG Team, assured that “from the team we want Gabri to recover. The most important thing now is that he underwent surgery and he will come back when he is ready to ride in his Kalex in the best possible condition. from The team will wait for him with open arms ”.
