Two players of Premier League whose identity has not yet been released was arrested and questioned last week as part of an investigation into the alleged rape. Both belong to the same club and the arrest took place in their own stadium.
According to the English media, the events took place on Friday night. The police showed up at the stadium the next day and first spoke to one of the footballers in question, aged 19, when he was being investigated for assault and complicity in a rape. Then, he spoke to a second soccer player, also 19 years old, for the same reason. Both were released on bail the next day.
“As the matter is in the hands of the police, the club will not comment on the matter,” said the club to which both players belong, according to The Sun.
