Third pole in a row for an immense David Alonso at Le Mans

Date:

David Alonso He won his third pole in a row at Le Mans, marking another weekend in which he topped all classifications. He broke the all-time record in free practice and achieved it again for the 1000th in a Q2 where he played it into a thrilling final lap. He will be joined by Holgado and Rueda on the first line on the grid.

The Hispanic Colombian signed up to dominate all classifications in a Moto3 Grand Prix, but in Jerez he already saw the wolf’s ears in the form of a mistake in the first lap of the race that ended early for him and that is why he finished second at Le Mans in the table, six points behind Dani Holgado, who has been leading since Portimao despite his lack of speed, let alone his speed.

The CFMotoAspar rider led the free practice session with more than four tenths of an advantage over the Dutchman Colin Veijer, the winner in Jerez, and in Q2 he had to deal with sticking to his tires. And in the second lap he already put 1’40″794, still far from his morning 1’40″121, and 34 thousandths to the return of Rueda -appendicitis operation in Austin and intestinal problems in Jerez- and 66 to Ortola. But before facing the road to the pits of a thousandth the Huqsvarna Veijer had overtaken him.

In the second round, Rueda pulled the small train first and Holgado slipped, they took the provisional pole to 1’40″366 and one lap ahead. Alonso left the masterpiece for the last lap and lowered the pole record to 1’40” 114 and by 11 thousandths he passed his great rival Holgado who was approaching his wheel. Rueda kept the first line.
