Three Olympic sprint champions will run this afternoon in the Golden Spikean athletics meeting that takes place in Ostrava (Czech Republic) and is part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold.
The Italian Marcel Jacobs and the Canadian Andre DeGrassethe current Olympic champions of 100m and 200m respectively, will face each other in the short distance.
Jacobs, 29, has a personal best of 9.8 seconds achieved at the Tokyo Olympics and De Grasse has a personal best of 9.89 seconds.
The race, which will be held at Ostrava’s Municipal Stadium from 6:10 pm, will have two more runners with a mark of less than 10 seconds: the 4x100m world bronzes Ryem Forde and Reece Prescod.
Later, at 7:30 pm, De Grasse will also run in the 200m race, where he will face his compatriot Jerome Blakein British Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake and in Jamaican Andrew Hudson.
