Two days before the start of the European CupAustrian internationals can enjoy a special evening by attending the concert of Rod Stewart. Not a bad motivational idea to get the players to dance to the songs of the legendary British singer, who will offer a concert in Berlin, the city where the footballers will stay.
The first match of the tournament for Austria will take place on June 17 in Düsseldorf, against the top favourites, France. Two days before, the Austrian team will enjoy this “surprise” at the Uber Arena in Berlin, as announced by coach Ralf Rangnick himself.
“On June 15, two days before our first match in France, he will give a concert in Berlin and we got 35 tickets,” said Rangnick, who is a big fan of the British singer. “We will go there with the whole team and part of the coaching staff,” he added.
“We met in person once in a Europa League match between Salzburg and Celtic Glasgow,” continued the German. “Rod Stewart wanted to be a footballer, but he wasn’t good enough, so he became one of the best singers on the island. For me it was exactly the opposite. I would have liked to be a singer, but I not enough and now I’m a coach.”
