Equal classification was expected after free practice and it did not disappoint. Less than four tenths between the first six and the lone 20 thousandths separated Lando Norris and Max Verstappen in the fight for the pole.
As far as Pierre Gasly, who finished in seventh position, there was only 474 thousandths of difference. Equality has been supreme and every curve is worth its weight in gold.
Another example of equality is Ferraris. Charles Leclerc beat Carlos Sainz by just five thousands. A blink of an eye. Of course, they both finished behind the Mercedes and would start 5th and 6th respectively.
One who fears that this classification will be tough is Fernando Alonso so it is. The Asturian driver tried everything but was only 19 thousandths away from being among the 10 fastest. He is forced to return from 11th on the grid at a circuit where overtaking is very complicated.
Things didn’t go well for Checo Pérez either, who would start 8th but with a gap of more than six tenths to his Red Bull teammate and poleman Lando Norris.
