In Germany they are asking for a replay of the quarterfinal match against Spain

Date:

Such is the anger within Germany regarding the quarterfinal match where the German team was eliminated from the Eurocup against Spain, who requested via ‘Change.org’ that the match be replayed as it was deemed unfair that no penalty was awarded for Marc Cucurella’s handball. English referee Anthony Taylor’s explanations were not enough for them.

It’s not just the stars of the game or former football players who have raised their voices, but with this initiative they are going even further and now everyone wants to join. They have, so far, obtained 378,000 signatures responding to the question ‘Repeat of quarterfinals between Spain and Germany due to wrong decisions’.

In the text in which the initiative argues its request, they write: “In the 106th minute there was no clear penalty for handball when Cucurella blocked a clear scoring chance with his outstretched arm. Referee Anthony Taylor allowed the match to continue and VAR inexplicably did not intervene. And this is just one of many wrong decisions. In the 77th minute, Niklas Füllkrug was brought down by Nacho after a low cross from Florian Wirtz, bringing him down and clearly preventing his finish. The two clearly mentioned wrong decisions were decisive and would have changed the game. That’s why I think it should be repeated. If you also have this opinion, sign this petition and share this petition with your peers“.
