Movistar’s Rafa Nadal Open will celebrate its sixth edition

The Rafa Nadal Academy of Manacor will host the sixth edition of the Rafa Nadal Open by Movistarthe tournament within the ATP Challenger Tour circuit which begins on August 26 and runs until September 1.

In a statement, Rafa Nadal is very happy with the results of the previous editions, because his academy has “great experience in organizing top-level tournaments” and “the very positive response from the public” is very enjoyable.

For the tennis player from Manaco, it was “one of the most special weeks” of the residents of the educational and sports center, because in the last week of August, great athletes from the professional circuit meeting with the emerging promises of world tennis.

Players rate this event as one of the best within the ATP Challenger Tour circuit and it has brought together, in previous editions, tennis players of the caliber of Carlos Alcaraz or Andy Murray with Spanish tennis references of the last decade such as Fernando Verdasco and Pablo Andujar.

In recent years, tennis players who have been part of the world’s Top 100 or have been around it at some point in their career have become tournament winners, with a track record consisting of Bernard Tomic (2018), the Finnish namely Emil Ruusuvuori (2019), the Slovakian Luckas Lacko (2021), the Italian Luca Nardi (2022) and the Serbian Hamad Medjedovic (2023).

Rafa himself also pointed out that they were able to create “something more than a tennis tournament thanks to all the entertainment events organized around the Challenger”, and were able to gather 10,000 spectators in each of the editions.

Tournament tickets will continue to be free to the public, and everyone who downloads their tickets will have the opportunity to visit the Rafa Nadal Museum at a reduced price.
