Real Madrid made official this Wednesday the renewal of Luka Modric until June 30, 2025. The Croatian midfielder’s contract extension has been granted since the end of last season and the white club announced it the day after the presentation of Mbappé.
The genius from Zadar, first captain starting next year due to the departure of Nacho Fernández, summed up his feelings in statements to Real Madrid’s official media after signing the deal. “It’s a unique and special moment to be able to continue in Madrid at this point,” admitted Modric, who turns 39 in September.
“I am very happy and proud to renew. I thank the club, the president and the coach for the trust they have in me, which has allowed me to continue for another year at the best club in the world, Modric added.
“For me and my family, Madrid is our home and we feel that,” declared the Croatian, who will start his thirteenth season at the white club in the coming months. “Madrid is something unique in my life, I am very happy to continue being a Madrid player because it is everything to me,” said the midfielder.
