Atalanta, Real Madrid’s rivals in the European Super Cup, have gone all out in the transfer market in recent times. After getting the track agreement with Genoa for Mateo Regui for 22 million euros and 3 of the variables, the Bergamasco club followed Marc Pubill (21).
According to Fabrizio Romano, Atalanta will pay 20 million euros with variables to Almería for the right-back, who is currently competing in the Olympic Games with the Spanish team. The Manresa player was chosen to replace Hateboer, who in this transfer market headed to Rennes.
Pubill will play in the final of the Olympic soccer tournament on Friday against France and then seal his move to Atalanta. The Catalan player sounded strong to strengthen Benfica’s defense but in the end, barring any surprises, his destination was Bergamo.
Pubill is thought to be out of Gasperini’s disposal for next week’s match against Real Madrid in Warsaw.
