Under his President Donald Trump, the United States are losing popularity in many countries. According to a current study, the popularity values ​​crashed in 15 of the 24 countries investigated. The head of state is considered arrogant by four of the five respondents.

Since US President Donald Trump took office, the prestige of the United States has decreased considerably under Trump in large parts of Europe, the case was the strongest in Poland. Austria did not seem to be in the list.

Among all countries investigated, the popularity value of the United States in Sweden was the lowest, here 79 percent of people have a bad opinion about the country. Also in Germany, the US reputation also decreased as a result of the Trump presidency: between 2024 and 2025, the proportion of people with a positive image of the United States fell by 16 percentage points, from 48 to 33 percent. 66 percent of the Germans see the United States negative at the moment, and in the previous year it was only 48 percent.

Current change in Mexico and Canada
Both in Mexico and in Canada, who wants to make Trump the 51st US state, a majority of respondents have a bad opinion of the US after a majority had seen the country positively among the predecessor Joe Biden van Trump.

In a large part of the countries investigated by Pew Research, the character of Trump and his politics came across little sympathy. Trump achieved his worst values ​​in the neighboring country of Mexico, which he had repeatedly attacked and put pressure on his immigration policy during his first term. According to the survey, 91 percent of Mexicans surveyed said that they did not trust Republican to make the right decisions in world politics.

80 percent of respondents described Trump as arrogant
On average of all countries, a majority of respondents did not correspond to Trump’s politics on important questions such as the Ukraine war, the Gaza war, immigration and climate change. 80 percent of respondents described Trump as arrogant, only 28 percent thought he was honest.

Most positive reviews came from Israel

The most positive was the image of the US in Israel, which is clearly supported by Trump and his government. Here, 83 percent of the respondents have a positive opinion about the United States.

Between January and April 28,333 adults were interviewed in 24 countries for the investigation.
