Reactions to the death of Juan Izquierdo

The world of sports, politics and society is mourning after receiving the bad news of the death of the Uruguayan footballer Juan Izquierdo at the age of 27 in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo, where he has been hospitalized since Thursday with a critical neurological condition.

We express our deepest condolences and embrace his family, his friends and the National Football Club in this moment of great pain ,” declared team gold

Meanwhile, the Uruguayan Football Association also expressed its condolences through the same means of communication. “We regret with great pain and sadness the death of Nacional footballer, Juan Izquierdo. Our condolences to his family, friends and colleagues at this very difficult time. RIP,” indicated the message from the Uruguayan governing body football.

These messages of condolence were joined by the Argentine teams Boca Juniors and River Plate, the Brazilian San Pablo and Fuminese, Colo Colo from Chile, Olimpia from Paraguay, Alianza Lima from Peru and the Italian Juventus, as well as also the Confederation of South American Football (Conmebol), among others.

For his part, the candidate for the presidency of Uruguay for the Colorado Party, Andrés Ojeda, also published a message dedicated to the Uruguayan soccer player. “The worst news, the saddest. Our condolences go to his family, friends and colleagues. RIP Juan Izquierdo,” he said. That country’s presidential candidate for the Frente Amplio party, Yamandú Orsi, expressed his words of encouragement to family and colleagues. “A whole country that refused to believe, a football-loving people that wanted it not to be true, that it couldn’t happen. All of Uruguay embraced that family, its club, its teammates. Rest in peace,” he said.

And Conmebol wrote: “Conmebol deeply regrets the passing of Juan Izquierdo, a Uruguayan Nacional footballer. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends. RIP,” South American football’s governing body published, based in the Paraguayan city of Luque, on his account on the social network X.
