The meeting, which was postponed in July due to scheduling issues, is part of the contacts Pradales has been maintaining to explore the possibilities of a pact on Osakidetza and the health care system in Euskadi and to address other issues such as those related to self-government.
The lehendakari, Imanol Pradales meets a delegation from the UGT union this Wednesday in Ajuria Enea of Euskadi. In this way, he concludes the round of social contacts that he has maintained with the social agents, a day before the first meeting that the Council of the Basque Government will hold in the new political year in the Miramar Palace in San Sebastián.
The Lehendakari began its meetings with social agents on July 19. The ELA representatives met with the Lehendakari that day after eleven years without public meetings with members of the Basque government. To this meeting were added the meetings held in the following days with the LAB and CCOO unions, as well as with the employers’ association Confebask.
However, scheduling problems have led to the postponement of the meeting with UGT, which will eventually take place next Wednesday at 10:00 at the Ajuria Enea Palace. Pradales will receive a delegation from the union, consisting of the general secretary, Raúl Arza, and the general secretary of the Federation of Public Services, Arantza Agote.
After his appointment as Lehendakari, Pradales started a round of meetings with various officers to explore the possibilities of a pact on Osakidetza and the health care system in Euskadi and to address other issues such as those related to self-government and the key issues to be addressed during this term of office.
First he met with political parties, then with trade unions, business groups and entities from other fields, such as education. After a meeting with UGT he will end these first meetings.
