The Spanish jumper achieved a mark of 6.32 meters to surpass the 6.29 held by the Chinese Ye Tao at the time and with this he successfully completed his candidacy for the medals he presented throughout the afternoon. At the forefront, Chinese Dongdong Di, with a stratospheric world record of 6.85 meters, and Shichang Chen, with 6.50 meters, also won gold and silver medals, respectively.
