The date for the funeral has been set Sven-Göran ‘Svennis’ Eriksson: is on September 13 at Fryksände church in Torsby (south-west Sweden). The former coach, who was diagnosed with incurable pancreatic cancer last year, died on August 26 at his home in Björkefors, outside Sunne, aged 76, after a long illness.
The funeral will be followed by a musical procession to Kollsberg’s home, where speeches will be given, according to the Swedish press on Tuesday. His ashes will be thrown into Lake Fryken in Värmland. “It’s a beautiful place that inspires a lot of calm. My father grew up there, in the mountains. And on the other side is Torsby, where I grew up. On the other side is Sunne, where I was born,” explained ‘Svenis’ in the Amazon documentary.
