FIFA-Almeida meeting in Madrid

Date:

The FIFA is visiting these days Spain, Portugal and Morocco, the countries that make up the 2030 World Cup bid. FIFA representatives are visiting World Cup venues in these three countries and in Madrid.

They met in the capital José Luis Martínez-Almeida, mayor of Madrid. A meeting where Almeida insisted the Madrid’s candidacy to host the 2030 World Cup final. A candidacy in which Morocco is also competing and going all out, including building a new stadium.

“We are clearly working for Madrid to host the World Cup final and, at the same time, we also have the capacity to offer the necessary facilities for an International Press Center that should clearly be a reference in which there will be thousands and thousands of journalists,” he said Martínez-Almeida inbefore meeting with FIFA.

And hosting the World Cup final means thatl International Press Center in the city where that final will be held. At the summit, FIFA members visited the Country HouseWhich for now is the good candidate to host the International Press Center. There are other facilities in Madrid to house it, but the problem is that the one chosen must be blocked by FIFA for at least six months, and that greatly reduces the options to host the International Press Center. Because of this panorama, Casa de Campo is currently the perfect candidate for Madrid, which is hosting the World Cup and fighting for the final.
