Mapfre and the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) will announce this Saturday, November 30, the MAPFRE Award for ‘Safest Player’, an award that recognizes the football player with an outstanding performance, related to the security and confidence shown in the critical moments of the match, ensuring the stability of the result and contributing to the success of his team regardless of his position on the field of playing.
This trophy is distinguished by rewarding the most decisive player from this point of view for the benefit of his team, an area of the game that deserves recognition for having great importance in the outcome of a match. When this award is given, individual skill is valued as well as teamwork, which is essential to build confidence and security in the game.

Mapfre has launched the first manual that brings together the traditions, customs and feelings of Conmebol Libertadores fans, under the title, ‘Beside you on the path to glory.’
The book is informed by the experiences of fans, obtained from personal interviews with fans from different countries participating in the most prestigious club competition in South America. These conversations show the dedication with which the followers live Conmebol Libertadoreswhich leads to a series of unofficial rules, such as: “If someone starts a chant of encouragement on your team, you have to follow it no matter what”; “It allows you to recognize that rival players are good, but those on your team are better”; and “The only thing more important than a Conmebol Libertadores match is another Conmebol Libertadores match played at the same time”, among others .
