This Saturday’s qualifying session for Sunday’s race is very different, compared to Friday’s for the Sprint of the Qatar GP. The first major change was the monumental pole of Max Verstappen, who suffered a lot all weekend until he reached the key and achieved a pole position that he has not achieved since the Austrian GP.
The Dutchman stopped the clock at 1:20.520, a record 55 thousandths faster than Russellwith Mercedes seems to be the fittest person in the classification. The two McLarens, the great dominators of the Sprint race, finished third and fourth and occupied the second row of the grid.
The other one too who gave a big surprise was Fernando Alonso. The simulations left the Aston Martin far behind but the Spaniard’s hands again marked the differences in an incredible way and he finished in eighth position. He will appear alongside Carlos Sainzwho was 7th in a difficult session for the Ferrari driver.
