Red Bull ended Jüri Vips ’contract on TuesdayFormula One test and reserve driver for using racial slur in an online gaming broadcast on Twitch last week.
The 21-year-old Estonian was already suspended by Red Bull last week pending an investigation into the language he used. “Following its investigation into an online incident involving Juri Vips, Oracle Red Bull Racing terminated Juri’s contract as its test and reserve driver,” Red Bull tweeted. “The team does not tolerate any form of racism.”

Vips, who made the simulator for Red Bull, replaced Red Bull F1 driver Sergio Perez in the first training session for the Spanish Grand Prix last month and last ended. He joined the energy drink brand’s young talent program in 2018, and has competed since 2020 under the Austrian structure in Formula 2, combining it with sporadic appearances as a test and reserve driver. The Vips have three podium finishes this season in the F2 championship.
Following his incident and subsequent suspension, the Estonian issued a statement “apologizing for the offensive language used in a live broadcast of the game. This language is completely unacceptable and does not describe the characters. values and principles that I stand for, ”Vips said. “I deeply regret my actions and this is not the example I want to set. I will fully assist in the investigation.”
