On January 2, the community manager of the Williams Racing team welcomed his signing to Campanillas. Carlos Sainz the pilot called to restore glory to Grove’s team. With a “Welcome, Carlos” in perfect Spanish, they settled the issue. But since then they have not stopped in their efforts to show one of their two “heavy drivers.”
After fulfilling his contract with Scuderia Ferrari, which gave him more than a warm farewell in the last days of 2024, Carlos has changed his profile on the networks with the updated “Formula 1 Driver for Williams Racing” and ‘Smooth Operator’ (the smooth operator) plus ‘hot chili’ emoji for his driving attitude.
And Williams Racing has published photos of Carlos Sainz’s debut with the Williams FW48 at the Pirelli post-race test in Abu Dhabi. Sainz finished with the second best time of the day with a 1:23.635, just 25 thousandths behind his former teammate Charles Leclerc, and 146 laps, two and a half race distances from Abu Dhabi.
Williams will be the team’s fifth Carlos Sainz in Formula 1 after his debut with Toro Rosso in 2015, Renault in 2017-2018, McLaren in 2019-2020 and Ferrari, where he will be from 2021 to 2024.
