“I doubt Salah will succeed here”

Date:

The technician of Tottenham Hotspur, Ange Postecoglousaid that his team is struggling to such an extent that even not after the Liverpool, Mohamed Salahhe will make a good impression as part of the team. Spurs, who face the Reds in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final on Wednesday, are 12th in the league and have lost three of their last four games.

Although Salah has scored 21 goals and provided 17 assists in all competitions, Postecoglou believes the Egyptian will have his work cut out for him to achieve similar numbers for the London side this season. “Mo is a world-class player, but if you put him in our team now, I’m not sure he would have the same level of performance because of our situation as a group,” he told reporters. “You need a team that is in good shape, that creates chances and has a really solid defensive base. None of those things exist at the moment here. All there are are individual flashes.”

On the other hand, Postecoglou pointed out that Spurs captain Son Heung-min, who has renewed his contract and has scored just seven goals in all competitions this season, will thrive at current Liverpool. “I would dare say that if you put Sonny in Liverpool his scoring performance will be decent. When we are at our best, I think we will see Sonny’s return.”
