Spectacular accident Tuesday evening in the Tyrolean lowlands: A 27-year-old resident lost control of his car, veered off Loferer Straße (B178) and fell over the adjacent slope. The driver was able to free himself and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
The accident happened around 7:15 p.m. According to the police, the 27-year-old was driving his car on the B178 from Scheffau towards Söll when he lost control of the car for unknown reasons.
Crashed into an adjacent ditch
“The vehicle went over the right side of the road, slid over the guardrail there and fell approximately 30 feet into the adjacent ditch before coming to a stop,” investigators said.
Driver taken to hospital with lifebuoy
The driver was able to free himself from the car. After initial treatment on site, the man was taken by ambulance to Kufstein Hospital for further examination.
When the accident was recorded, the B178 was only passable in one lane. The Söll fire brigade with five vehicles and 40 members, the rescue service including the emergency doctor and the police were present.
