The uncertain future of one of the most famous sprinters in the professional cycling peloton

Date:

Caleb I don’t know is one of the best sprinters of the professional cycling platoon. The Australian, 30 years old, already has 11 seasons as a professional behind him. Throughout his career he played for only two teams: from 2014 to 2018 he played in the rank of Orica GreenEdgethen go to Lotto Soudal (until 2023) and in 2024 he returned to the set Aussies (now Team Jayco AlUla).

Although it was taken for granted that the one from Sydney was going to continue with Jayco at least this season, now the uncertainty about your immediate future appeared by surprise. That’s his name does not appear on the Australian team website World Tour with other runners to defend their colors.

Another thing that raises suspicion is the cyclist was not called up for the Santos Tour Down Under where he is usually picked with some regularity as it is the ‘home race’ for him. Furthermore, the fact that we still no image of the runner wearing the new jerseyseems to indicate that he did not attend the training camp which the squad did a few weeks ago.

For his part, Ewan has not published anything about it on his social networks and everyone suggests that He can leave the team before the start of the season in a few days. Anyway, nothing official yet so we have to wait for a possible statement from Jayco on the matter to confirm what will happen to the cyclist.

It should be noted that Ewan has a rather irregular 2024 where He only had 3 wins: the Critérium of the Australian national championships, stage 1 of the Tour of Oman and the Vuelta a Castilla y León. Very poor results for a runner who showed that he was can beat other sprinters from the likes of Elia Viviani, Peter Sagan, Sam Benet and Mads Pedersen among others.
