At least 20 blows – brother killed with an axe: student (14) now charged

Date:

After the horror crime in Kindberg in September last year, the Leoben public prosecutor brought a young man from Styria before a jury for the murder of his older brother (36). A trial date is still pending.

“There’s something creepy inside me, a superego that gives me terrible orders!” A terrifying story was told by a 14-year-old who allegedly killed his older brother with a double-bladed Viking ax in the Mürzhofen. Kindberg district.

In his first interview, the very young perpetrator told investigators that a dispute over household chores had escalated. Then he changed his story and revealed his rude thoughts to them. Although his brother was like a substitute father to him after his parents separated.

There are said to have been repeated conflicts between the 36-year-old and his little protégé, because the eldest was mean to him. However, the situation escalated in mid-September.

The 14-year-old grabbed an ax that was hanging on the wall in the house for decoration and attacked the older boy. He gave his brother at least twenty hard blows and eleven stab and cutting wounds, including on the head, throat and neck. He had no chance, he died.

Confessed to his sister’s crime
The boy then dialed his sister’s number and admitted to attacking the 36-year-old. The shocked woman immediately alerted the rescue services, who discovered the body in the family home and informed the police.

The suspect had now fled with the murder weapon. However, this did not last long: police officers from the Kapfenberg police station and the service dog patrol “Tasso Nord” arrested him not far from the crime scene.

14 year old completely healthy
A psychiatric report, prepared by renowned expert Peter Hofmann, confirms that the student was completely healthy at the time of the crime.

That is why he has now been charged with murder by the Leoben Public Prosecution Service, as their spokesperson Andreas Riedler confirmed in response to a ‘Krone’ request. The complaint has already been served on the persons involved, but is not yet legally binding. A jury trial date has not yet been set.
