Valverde’s new Athletic is already underway. While awaiting the official start of the preseason, several parts of the red and white squad began undergoing corresponding medical examinations prior to the team’s start today. The experience will be repeated in the next few days.
The Bilbao club itself was responsible for announcing the start of these individual tests under the supervision of Josean Lekue, head of Athletic’s medical services. The experience will be repeated throughout the week with the other players and the first pre-season training session will take place next week on a date yet to be determined.
“Aptitude tests typically include a clinical history, an electrocardiogram at rest, an echocardiogram and a maximum effort test. On the day training begins, they will be completed with an examination and an anthropometric control,” they taught from Athletic itself.
De Marcos, Iñigo Córdoba and Imanol García de Albéniz were some of the first lions to go through the IMQ to undergo these trials.
