Roglic: "I sank, but I didn’t care"

Date:

the slovenian primoz roglic (Jumbo Visma) is satisfied with the leadership of his Danish teammate jonas vingegaard after a strategic stage in which they were able to oust Slovenian Tadej Pogacar from the yellow jersey, despite Vuelta’s triple winner ending in defeat in 14th place overall.

In the first stage of the Alps, Jumbo designed a strategy from start to finish to attack the yellow jersey. Roglic was the first to launch attacks against his compatriot in the UAE on the slopes of the Telegraphe.

I found out what Jonas Vingegaard did on the radio. This has been a very good day for us. How did we manage to make Pogacar fail? We gave it our all. It was hard, but in the end the strongest won. When we exchanged attacks with him, we didn’t know if we were going to put him in trouble, ”Roglic explained of Granon’s goal.

A strategic victory worth Jumbo’s entire effort, but that sacrifice was considered good. “Sure I drowned, but I didn’t care because I gave it my all”said Roglic, twentieth on stage at 11.31 from his teammate Vingegaard and fourteenth overall at 13.34.
