The competition

On Thursday, June 30, the event will kick off the third edition of Ascent to the Stars, a 3.2 km race that will take place under the night sky in La Palma.

On Friday, July 1, the competition will begin in the classic mountain races, in the elite senior and sub-20 male and female categories, with an estimated distance, yet to be confirmed, of 6 kilometers uphill from the foot of Bejenao to on from the Pista de Ferrer, which means nearly 800 meters of climbing up to 1,600 meters of altitude.

The races will start at the foot of the Bejenao mountain, in the middle of the island, and run on the island’s famous petroglyphs, designs carved in stone by the island’s natives.

The second day of competition, on July 2, is for trail runners, with 45 km races of men and women, as well as several famous races matching El Reventón-Fred Olsen.

The race route will pass through Mount Bejenao, a tough climb to Puerto del Reventón, Cumbre Vieja, Llano de los Jables and the emblematic Pino de la Virgen, and the bulk of the race takes place in the Parque Nacional de la Taburiente boiler.
