"The first thing Alves told me was that he wanted a deal with no privileges"

The Argentinian Andres Lillinicoach of Pumas ONEWednesday praised the Brazilian’s humility Daniel Alvesformer FC Barcelona player, who requested equal treatment for his foray into Mexican soccer.

“He doesn’t put pressure; the first thing he told me is that he wants equal treatment, no privileges. It’s something we take advantage of,” the coach said after Pumas drew 1-1 with Mazatlan with a goal from Argentine Nicolás Freire, on a pass directly from Alves.

In a press conference, Lillini admitted that Alves is a good communicator and hopes that, even if he lasts well for 90 minutes on the pitch, he will increase his adaptation to the altitude of Mexico City (2,240 meters above sea level) and perform more.

“Surely the last 15 minutes he felt, but he did well. When we risked, he stopped holding and he did very well. The adaptation games will come; he has a privileged physique and I don’t think he will cost much,” he said.

Dani Alves was the star of the fifth day of the Apertura; on his debut in the league he was cheered by more than 30,000 fans of the university squad, who were happy with the player’s delivery.

“His dynamic is someone who stands in locker rooms with hierarchy; what he has is hierarchy. He’s contagious, has a long way to go and takes care of the details; he relies on a lot of things tactically , his experience has a different reading,” he observed.

A member of the Brazilian teams at the 2010 and Brazil 2014 World Cups in South Africa, and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion, Alves is one of the most recognizable players in Mexican soccer so far this century and in his first minutes on the field made a good impression for its dedication and good football.

“He must have fought 3,000 matches, each one left something behind him and that is at the service of our team. We must be smart to take advantage of it,” he said.
