The young pilots of Tenerife will have the support of the Cabildo for their promotion

The Cabildo will support the island’s young pilots through Council Promotion Championship 2022, a sporting event organized by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Inter-Island Automobile Federation (FIASCT) consisting of a total of five tests. The next one is Rally City of La Lagunawhich will be held next weekend and will be counted in the regional provincial and island championship for asphalt rally.

For his part, Arriaga stressed that “Tenerife It has a great fandom from the motor world and with a large pool of drivers and insists that “this training program comes to respond to young promises that go from karts to competition cars in the case of rallies and that they need a particular training to face, with guarantees, his first steps in the great championships of the Canary Islands”.

In addition, he explained that “in the second phase of the Tenerife Motor Circuit, the facility will have a motor school where will prepare future pilots. An infrastructure that will be an important business niche for the island. That is why it is so important to retain and train the young drivers who are the future of motor racing in the islands.”

Concepción Rivero emphasized that “we want to support Tenerife pilots under 25 years old so that they can more quickly make their way as professional athletes, while receiving enough training to face competitions in optimal physical condition and safety”.

The island’s councilor recalled that “the Cabildo, through Ideco, will support three of the five championship eventsspecifically the Orvecame Isla de Tenerife Rally, which will be held from October 1 to 22 and the Villa de Adeje Rally, which will be held on November 25 and 26, in addition to the Ciudad de La Laguna Rally”.

The president of the Inter-island Automobile Federation of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Francisco Negrín, thanked for the support given by the Cabildo and explained that “this sponsorship agreement starts from now until the end of the year, this promotion championship guarantees young people that they do not pay registration and help to carry out their project but receive also theoretical training -Internship carried out by a first-rate company. A teaching not only of technical issues but also of nutrition, languages ​​or, for example, media attention”.

A total of six drivers under the age of 25 belonging to the three teams will participate in the competitions, and they will also attend several workshops led by the Canarian asphalt rally champion, Henry Cruzand his coach, Oscar Fumero.

These sessions will discuss driving techniques, but the young athletes will also be taught how to be in good physical condition and how they should prepare for each test, as well as concentration techniques and steps to safety.
