The two members of the Red Bull Racing team will make changes to the power unit for the Hungarian Grand Prix race.
Max Verstappen will replace most of the components that make up the power unit. The Red Bull driver was only eligible for 10th place in Saturday’s qualifying due to a power loss on his final lap attempt.
Neither Max Verstappen nor Sergio Pérez will receive a penalty for replacement as it is within three possible replacements. This fact does not imply a change in the starting grid.
Although this time it does not imply punishment for Verstappen will be a problem. In the nine races to follow in Hungary, the Dutch driver’s car has already used a third power unit, three is the maximum allowed, so at the next change it will be penalized.
This time the victim is Pierre Gasly. The French driver made a fourth power unit change so he will start from the pitlane at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
In Saturday’s qualifying, the Alpha Tauri driver failed to set a good lap to advance to Q2, so it won’t be a big change for him.
