“Someone has been itching lately in training, so maybe they are kicking or something (laughing). The important thing beyond that bad milk is to logically win the conflicts, the arguments. I have to steal and brace myself in those situations.”
Mikel Vesga has been one of Athletic’s most popular players so far this preseason. The player from Gasteiz seems to have settled in a midfield where Dani García, at least for now, has not counted much in recent campaigns. We will have to wait to see what Valverde’s final intentions are in this regard.
“I’m happy and adapting like all my teammates to the new things that the coach asks us in a position that perhaps I haven’t held for a long time, but in which I feel comfortable. Regarding the change of manager, Vesga said that “every coach has his own way of working, of expressing himself. What we learned from Marcelino, many of those good things, will logically remain because it has been good for us. The ‘rojiblanco’ midfielder also clarified that “our goal is always to be as high as possible, leave Athletic in the best place and entering Europe is what we have been fighting for in recent years.
