Patrick Brennan, the famous Derry GAA player, is now “stable” in a California hospital

Date:

The famous GAA player from Derry, who was left in an induced coma in the United States after being hit by a car, is now in a stable condition in a California hospital.

Patrick Brennan is in a critical condition after the collision and has already undergone several vital surgeries.

It is understood that a former Steelstown GAA man will undergo major leg surgery before undergoing an MRI for a brain scan at Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildmore, California.

The Derry resident recently lived in Los Angeles and played Gaelic football for the LA Cougars.

Patrick, who previously lived and worked in Australia, had been enjoying the weekend before he got involved in the accident.

The US GAA team launched a GoFundMe page to help with medical bills and has so far raised $60,000 to help the family.

A team spokesperson, providing updates on Patrick’s condition, said he had been “more organized and stable” over the past three days.

And when hospital visits have been limited due to Covid, a Cougars GAA spokesperson said they are focusing heavily on preserving the spirit of Paddy’s parents.

“The response to attracting this fund was just a massive, global effort,” they said in a statement.

“Paddy and his family obviously love each other very much and it was great to energize and help so many communities so quickly. Together we provided a strong security blanket for Paddy and his family when needed.

“The last thing about Buddy’s condition is that he’s been a lot more tidy and stable for the past three days. I’ve had serious foot surgery tomorrow, so keep that in mind and go over your toe!”

Hopefully the next step is to take her to the MRI machine to get a good look at her big brain, where we all hope you’ll see it all, but we need to be prepared for that. no result.”

LA Cougars GAA members support Patrick’s parents

They added, “With hospital visits limited due to Covid, Cougars GAA has focused on raising the mood for Paddy’s parents, making sure they have everything they need and helping them take their well-deserved break from the hospital. And doing their best. Change the topic from time to time!” Thanks Stabilizer Ongoing Paddy, we like to think of our wonderful characters, who, like a quick lunch break, were turned into a cozy four-hour afternoon winery with Paddy’s parents, who, by all accounts, were able to have fun and come home. Hospital early evening with rejuvenating and refreshing Irish dishes we picked up at our local Siopa!

“It was a great day and it was lovely to see them smile. There were more visits today from Paddy’s best friends and the next section of our club will appear on Mondays and Tuesdays.”

The JustGiving page was also created by the folks of Derry and you can raise this funding here.
