Spain closed the U-20 World Cup in Cali with a record number of finalists

Fourth place in the men’s 4×400 meter relay, breaking the Spanish record with a time of 3:06.91raised the number of finalists (8 first) reached in Cali (Colombia) by the Spanish athletics team to thirteen, a record figure that exceeds the ten from Lisbon 1994 and Nairobi 2021, by far the best Spanish vintages.

Safea 19-year-old athlete from Lleida, marked a historic milestone in Spanish athletics by becoming the first to reach the 100m world final in any age category.

Spain finished the tournament twelfth in the points standings with 38surpassed only by four European countries: Germany (5), France (8), Great Britain (9) and the Netherlands (11).
